Impossible: a powerful word used frivolously for difficult people and situations.
In all likelihood, however, that one person you don’t particularly like isn’t exactly “impossible” to get along with; nor is a certain situation you find rather challenging altogether “impossible” to overcome.
The fact of the matter is, many of the things that we deem “impossible” we make so by giving them weight. In making a powerful association, you reiterate feelings of defeat with an unpleasant situation — convincing yourself that you’re incapable of overcoming seemingly insurmountable challenges, when you could have the ability to accomplish so much more!
The Power of Words
Words have the power to construct our reality. It’s through language, after all, that we cause happiness and laughter, tears and anger.
Words define situation and action, setting the scene for the grand finale.
It only makes sense, therefore, that we practice caution when choosing the right words to define our reality.
Think of uttering the word “impossible” as uttering the word “love.” We tend to use “love” frivolously for anything and everything; but in truth, we only love a few individuals and things over others.
It’s the exclusivity of the word that makes it so meaningful, whereby using it for just about everyone makes it lose its sacredness.
Rephrase Your Philosophy
We all have instances in life where we’re told something is impossible, that striving for change under the circumstances is simply illogic and inconceivable.
It is at these critical junctures that we have the power to decide our fate.
Aim for the “impossible” and achieve the unachievable by simply adopting a positive philosophy that motivates you to reach for the stars.
No one ever reached the peak of success by telling themselves they could never make it to the top.
Remember, you and only you have the ability to change the course of your life.
Realize the value of your words and be mindful of the effect they have on your action and will.
